My friend Jason made this logo quite awhile ago now, but I still like it. Jason helped me start up Bordz back in Somers Point years ago, since then he has relocated out to Colorado and just kills it on a Snowboard, but then again Colorado everyday? Who couldn’t have some fun and rip! As we all know around the East Coast is pretty lame for snow unless you head to VT area where our real resorts and mountains are, some in NY are ok, but a bit over hyped I’d say, besides who wants to drive 5-6-7 -9 hours to ride? If you are doing that then just move man, gas will kill you this year! Been on the phone all day working towards some great charity and kids events for Bordz this December: Some of the best things you can do is make a child happy if even for just a day. I had a student from our local school contact me via mail, and he stated he wanted to learn how to make a skate deck, I thought ok, but what was the catch? Well at the end of the letter he asked for some kind of response from me at Bordz so guess what we did? Bet you might know already, instead of a respose letter, stickers or phone call, we took the time to make his Holiday! The entire Bordz team signed a skatedeck from Bordz and I hand deliverd that plus a sticker for every kid in the school to him! He was so excited he was shaking, it was a total surprise setup by the teacher and myself. That is what seperates great things from just everyday ones, people who donate time and effort to a cause, not a profit, but an end result that means more than anything else in life; SEEING HAPPINESS on someone by giving!

Bordz wants to say goodbye to and wish Lee Karnuck a (Freestyle team rider) a happy life and best of luck as he begins his military career in the U.S Marines on Monday. Lee is slated to attend training in Parris Island, then PCS over to Japan! He says he is glad, a bit nervous, but very proud to serve. It is so refreshing to see legitimate loyalty and dedication to a cause. Lee has been an instructor at Bordz and does very well with his favorite student Bobby. Take Care Lee! Make sure you keep your head down.

So did anyone ever think Santa was a skater? Guess what? Santa is coming to Bordz on December 16th from 4:30 - to 6pm to have a skate then photo session with any skaters who wish to attend. The session is FREE but you might want a photo keepsake of the event. I;m not real sure but I have NEVER heard of Santa skating at a shop near here? Also we are looking to assist local charities this holiday with a Holiday toy drive at Bordz. I’ll have a tree up this weekend that will have a nice big Toy box for anyone who wishes to help to drop a new “unwrapped” toy in the bin for childern less fourtunate in our area. After seeing the power we have as a team of skaters and people, I feel our skate team should be the driving force behind changing the way most adults feel about skateboarders and what they really are all about.

Next up is the Skate team christmas party that will also include several of our most loyal customers from this year. Some of the kids out there come here for EVERYTHING they have in way of the skateboard lifestyle. They also are so dedicated to the bordz events they show up at every event ready to rock! Some have made our team but many others have not done so yet due to limited positions available on the roster. The Holiday celebration is scheduled for December 16th from 4-6 pm and will prove to be a fun time for all of us at the shop (I might have a few suprises up my sleeve).

I have been contacting the local Marine Corp recruiter as well to run a Charity kick-flip-a-thon or Grind-a-thon here at Bordz or on the mini ramp in the shop, only time will tell that one. I’ll update you guys when I get some more info on it.

BTW Snowboard news: Bordz is doing snow again on a milited basis for now! Discount tix to: Mountain Creek Resort Vernon, NJ (www.mountaincreek.com) . They have revamped the entire south peak into one big Snow park!! Yeah baby, do I hear Shop Bus Trip????? Maybe, if Adam gets it rolling as every year. Bozrd is proud to announce we now carry:
