Sorry I’m a bit slow on the blogs however alot has come to pass over the last few days and weeks. Hass anyone else seen the different sort of holiday spirit this season? Not to be a downer but, over the past 3 weeks I have heard from at least 14 seperate business owners, reps and managers that this holiday season is the worst on record! Now if that is true, what caused it? Recession? You know how we all hate that word, but it does seem to be a reality in most instances. Our Skate wih Santa project was designed to assist those families less fortunate help their kids have a nice christmas. So why then do we only have 5 toys in the bag and a gift cert for clothes for the kids? Where is all the spirit this year??? Seriously we talked about this last night after I had an event at the shop, everyone is so negative this holiday season, even the skaters themselves seem bummed? I can’t put my finger on anything but I really think we all need a reality check, I had someone even tell me that this is a forced christmas? I think is a nice way to say, yeah it’s that time again I have to buy the kids a gift? What a bummer, I make no money at the shop, deal with skaters, parents, and complaints yet still try to stay positive about the sport we do and love. I really feel like I am starting to fight a losing battle. Recent events at the shop make me wonder as well about just what people expect out of a working relationship whether it’s business or personal. But I can say that Bordz is still going strong and our new second shop is open for holiday business at: 718 Bay ave Somers Point, NJ (609) 601-2176.

Enough bad, here is a great thing. This past Sunday Nicole (BJ sister) had her 10th birthday at the shop and I really think she had a great time with her friends. Sai and BJ put on a great show, while Nick, Tom, and Kevin all helped out with the skate lessons. I think I actually saw Nicole almost cry when BJ gave her a signed skateboard. What a great time that was I have a photo of BJ Mom dropping in the mini, (I;ll get that online soon)

Sunday evening was our Bordz Family / Team party. Nearly 30 people showed up and I think everyone brought something to the event. The skaters all had to breakdance before we opened the ramp up for skating but I can say with great conviction that MC Hammer does not live in Galloway. The highlght of the evening was the holiday toast along with the new shop hoodies that were given out to each team member (but then again that is another story). With only 6 days till Christmas I hope to be able to update more soon, but as it gets busier at the shop I may not get the chance. I want to thank everyone who has made the shop what is today: Hurley, Zero, Plain and Simple, Eastern, Atlantic, Adam, Barry,  Eric, Mitch, Mike, Alex, Sai, BJ, Jack, Tom, Kevin among too many others but I think all the thanks goes out to Linda without whom Bordz would be a memory.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

MAY GOD BLESS YOU AS HE HAS BORDZ!

Please give to a charity near you.
